Welcome to Roxannamundi Headquarters!

I’m an internationally published, lifelong artist/illustrator who has studied and practiced Tarot for over 30 years, astrology maybe half that. They inform each other, and working with symbolic imagery as an artist has proven essential for  understanding both.
First intrigued with a Tarot deck at age 9 or 10, I’m now getting close(ish) to completing my own, 25 years in the making, thus far. The ‘Magnum Opus’ of hand-created, mixed media miniatures that brings two worlds together will be published as a limited edition, when the time comes.

Unlocking secrets in the mysterious Tarot de Marseille has long been a kind of obsession. After reading and tossing popular ‘occult’ theories over the years, I decided to start fresh and simply let the cards reveal. Amazing what we can learn by being receptive! As a very Mercurial, Taurus-Sagittarius, the fun for me is in the seeking, discovering and creating something original while learning/teaching myself along the way – it matters not whether others have trod the same path.
Blogging is a way to share some of my discoveries and let off steam while my ‘sidekick’ and I weave together a more cryptic, literary endeavour. Here’s hoping it will all come together soon. [To see just these articles, simply type ‘Tarot de Marseille’ or ‘TdM’ into the  blog search.] ~rb

NEWS AND UPDATES

Dec 8/24

When Cups Runneth Over is just a short, fun quote on drinking from Eubulus, for the holiday season…an alternate interpretation of Tarot Cups.

Dec 2/24

This post from April 2023, The Hermit – Shedding a Little Light on the Situation, has recently been updated, but even though I changed the date to today, it isn’t moving up. Well, that’s Mercury Rx for you! I have also added important info too (and corrected!) recent posts on Le Mat, La Force and Le Pendu. To quickly access all esoteric Tarot de Marseille history articles, simply type ‘TdM’ or ‘Tarot de Marseille’ into the blog search. For ALL Tarot mentions, just search ‘Tarot.’
A Mercury Rx in Sagittarius disclaimer: While I do research my theories for back-up, they are musings based on riddled, hieroglyphic imagery, interpreted through a syncretic, seeking, artist’s eye. I do not claim to know ‘THE TRUTH’ about anything.

What’s new for the Holiday Season…?
I’ve added free earrings to all my my lampwork bracelets, so do check those cheap n cheerful stocking stuffer sets out, plus other baubles. Couple of new necklaces are in the works, too.
Original art and prints are always an option, just search the ART dropdown menu. Some prices have been reduced on original vintage RB illos.
Alas, the Canadian public is currently without a postal service, so we wait, *buy local* or splurge on couriers, as necessary!
Last but not least, Tarot readings will resume in the new year, but a gift certificate is good for 6 months and makes a great stocking stuffer.

Before the holidays, I was coaxed out of  ‘applied art’ retirement by Aaron Louis, a New York based musician, who wanted me to create the cover and some other illos for his upcoming LP. The first two songs immediately had me bouncing out of my chair, so I agreed. It’s high energy, melodic punk/ska revival, with all kinds of other influences thrown in. Not only was it an honour, but I was able to  finally get a new computer due to this godsend! Will do a blogpost about the art inspiration, once the LP is out, but singles will be on Spotify Feb 3. Have a listen to the sampling of The Clamor here.
